STAR OF DAVID MANDALA The word mandala is Sanskrit for circle, polygon, Triangle and interconnection. Mandalas have been used for inner healing, meditation, enhancing intuitive & sixth sense powers and to connect with the eternal universe. Mandalas have been known in India and Tibet since 3000 B.C. almost dating back to 5000 years. Mandalas have an intuitive, irrational character and through their symbolical content, exert a retroactive influence on the unconscious. They therefore possess a "magical" significance, like icons. The power and efficacy cannot be consciously felt by the user but it directly connects with the subconscious mind. The famous Swiss Psychiatrist, Carl Jung has done intensive research on Mandalas. He states that Mandalas are the mirrors into which we project our psyche. He also states that Mandalas completes our personality brings about the "wholeness". Carl Jung used Mandalas in his Depth Psychology theory and practice to enrich the life of his patients.. Star
Of David is the most sacred of all symbols in Jewish faith.
It is named after King David of ancient Israel; and its earliest known
communal usage began in the Middle Ages alongside the more ancient symbol
of the menorah. Geometrically Star Of David is a hexagram. The earliest
known Jewish use of the hexagram was as a seal in ancient Israel (6th century
B.C.E.) and then eight centuries later in a synagogue frieze in Capernaum.
Jewish scholars have attempted to trace the Star of David back to King
David ; to Rabbi Akiva and to the *kabbalists, especially Rabbi Isaac Luria
(16th century). In the Jewish prayerbook, the term "Shield of David"
appears at the end of the "Samkhaynu/Gladden us" blessing. The term refers
directly to God, who shielded the Biblical David in battle and during his
flight from Saul. The term may be loosely based on Psalm 18, which is attributed
to David, and in which God is compared to a shield
